CDM AmeriCorps

AmeriCorps is a national service program funded through the Corporation for National and Community Service and the OneStar Foundation.

AmeriCorps, often called the domestic Peace Corps, is focused on helping communities meet their critical needs.  AmeriCorps members serving with Central Dallas Ministries focus on issues related to poverty, both at the individual and community level. CDM is committed to not only ameliorating the impact of poverty on families, but also to helping our neighbors access the resources necessary to attain long-term economic success, thereby providing them the ability to support themselves and their families.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The CDM AmeriCorps program includes both year-round and summer members. Members serve in a variety of programs meeting a myriad of our neighbors needs.  AmeriCorps members expand and enhance services in our network of food pantries, after-school programs and community centers as well as our housing programs, homeless case management services and transition services for youth exiting the foster care system. AmeriCorps members help us build our volunteer force so that we can expand services even more. CDM AmeriCorps also supports other community organizations operating summer programs for youth in low-income areas.

Eighty-five summer AmeriCorps members will help youth at summer programs located in low-income areas throughout the Dallas metroplex.
