Sixty year-round members serve with after school programs in low-income neighborhoods in Dallas.  Another seventy year-round members serve with the Neighborhood Revitalization Project.  Members serve on a part-time or reduced part-time basis, beginning in September and ending in June.

Part-Time (900 hours)  9 month term

$5,500 Living Allowance; $2,362 Segal Education Award

Reduced Part-Time (675 hours)  9 month term

$4,100 Living Allowance; $1,800 Segal Education Award

About 170 summer members serve with summer youth programs and mobile feeding programs in low-income neighborhoods in Dallas.  Another 25 summer members will serve with the Neighborhood Revitalization Project.  Summer members serve on a minimum-time basis, beginning in June and ending in August.

Quarter-Time (450 hours)  12 week term

$2,700 Living Allowance; $1,250 Segal Education Award

Minimum-Time (300 hours)  10 week term

$1,800 Living Allowance; $1,000 Segal Education Award

Application Process:

Member Requirements:  Must be 17 years or older; must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident; must have the ability to complete minimum service hours within term length and must attend fall/summer kick-off training in addition to monthly service projects and trainings.

Members commit to serving a minimum number of community service hours with CDM or a partner agency.  In return for service, members receive a biweekly living allowance and an end of term education award.  Compensation varies with level of commitment.  AmeriCorps members are National Community Service Participants and are NOT considered employees or volunteers.


**To be considered for a position, submit your completed application, including essay to Central Dallas Ministries AmeriCorps as instructed on the application.  In order to be placed, prospective members must be approved by CDM AmeriCorps and a host site.  Approval by either the host site or the CDM AmeriCorps office alone does not guarantee placement.
